Introduction Winter Workers Package Qualified Chef Resort Managers & Reps Ski Companion / Guide
Driver Chalet Host Ski/Snowboard Instructor Nannies & Childcare Beauty & Massage
As well as paying you the weekly wage for the job you will be entitled to what we call the "Winter workers package" this should at least include:

  • Staff accommodation. Most companies put staff in apartments that are shared with their other workers. This accommodation can range in comfort but the days of 4 or more staff sharing bunk beds crammed into the basement of the chalet are gladly coming to an end. Most companies do expect you to share a twin room with another worker with a similar job, or put couples in their own room. Most have shared facilities but the norm is a large comfy apartment with large sofas, DVD, X Box, internet access and TV.
  • Food and drinks are included, (unless you’re a chef cooking for the guests the staff usually take it in turns to cook communal evening dinners and everybody normally goes out at least one night a week). The clients left over Duty Free is normally donated to the staff at the end of each week
  • The all important season ski pass is included which alone is worth £500 plus.
  • Ski or snowboard hire for the winter is normally arranged through the local hire shop the company uses and if you’re careful with the equipment or remember to take round the infamous “chalet girl cake” or a few beers, then the boys in the hire shop will happily upgrade your gear.
  • All companies will supply medical insurance which varies in what it covers. But will at the very least get you off the mountain, if you injure yourself and pay your hospital fees until you are well enough to either return to work or be repatriated back to the UK. The old E111 form is now no longer valid and you should be supplied or get hold of yourself an EHIC card in addition to your insurance.

This package alone would cost you up to £4000+ if you just tried to do a season on you own without out working for a company!
