Whilst also skiing and snowboarding as much as possible! Unlike many
employers back in the UK tour operators realise that the staff they
take on are there because they want to have a great experience skiing/boarding
as well as enjoying the après ski atmosphere! All tour operators
have one thing in common and expect you to get on with the job in hand
as well! Sometimes it can be confusing trying to find out what is really
expected of you before you head out to the Alps……!
So to make things a bit easier we’ve included descriptions
of the more commonly advertised jobs that Gravity Recruitment has
on its job boards.
|
The descriptions are based
on the experiences of people actually doing the type of jobs offered
by tour operators, as opposed to the sometimes limited job descriptions
from companies advertising. Companies tend to try to make a job sound
appealing rather than describe the actual in-depth facts; they are
not trying to deceive anyone but are normally just restrained by the
limited space available in the advert!
Companies normally only give an indication of the amount they pay
per month but most pay approximately the same. |
Remember though that the
company paying the most is not necessarily the best to work for as
the benefits they offer can add up to more than they seem on paper!
(To understand the total packages offered see the “Winter Resort
Workers Package” section or ask questions at the interview).
A good, caring company paying slightly less but with an understanding
head office in the UK is almost always better than a company paying
more but being run by people who are out of touch with the staff in
the resorts. In the end the person or company that you, the employee,
gets on with at the interview stage and whose company standards and
ideals are closest to your own, is probably the company to opt for
when the job offers start arriving!
