Karan Podger and George Tattersfield met while working in the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt and have used their passion for travelling and winter sports to set up Gravity Recruitment. Here's a little bit more about them.
Karan Podger
Karan Podger learnt to ski at the age of 11, like so many of us by going on a school holiday, even though none of her family showed any interest in winter sports at the time. After leaving College Karan worked for Nicolson International, a large international city based head hunters. After learning the industry she decided to take a well earned year out to “do a season “ and worked for the premier chalet company Scott Dunn in Zermatt. After falling for the charms of Switzerland Karan ended up staying on for another 5 winters working in all areas of the hospitality industry and enjoying improving her skiing and German. Karan also spent 2 amazing years working in Ibiza.

On return she worked again for Scott Dunn in the Recruitment / Operations department and was well known for being the friendly and calm voice dealing with whatever problems the 170 resort staff could come up with. Karan is well known and respected within the winter sports industry. Her connections and skill at finding and placing reliable, skilled staff is an asset that employers and jobseekers can rely on.
George Tattersfield
George Tattersfield has been passionate about all aspects of adventure sports and the mountains for as long as he can remember! Since telling a schools career adviser that all he wanted do is ski and travel he worked and raced at Hemel Hempstead Artificial Ski Centre before venturing out to the Alps on his own aged 18!

George has skied, telemarked and surfed all over the world and after more than 20 winter seasons has worked in all areas of the adventure and independent travel market He gained his British Association Snowsport Instructors (BASI) Grade 2 aged 21 and as an independent ski instructor has taught and guided hundreds of happy clients in the UK and all over France, Italy and Switzerland!

In 1992 to he set up “Mountain Life Chalets” which he ran for 8 years, one of the first independent quality chalet operators in Argentiere in the Chamonix Valley. Experiencing all the joys and frustrations of running a small but successful year round holiday company, George has always been an exponent of the growing trend in small independent operators that are changing the face of the Alps and European holiday destinations. He is therefore able to use his considerable experience and understanding of such operators to aid finding and placing the correct job applicant with the most suitable employer.
